Toilet training my 2 1/2 yr old boy
I have a 2 1/2 yr old boy who I have just started toilet training. He is doing wee's on the big toilet no worries he loves it but he can't yet tell me when he needs to do a wee so I have been taking him every half an hour 2 an hour an he will strain a wee out. How long will it take him to work out how to hold his wee until he gets to the loo and how long will it take until he can tell me he needs to wee?? Should I stop or am I on the right track?

I'm not a pro, but I have just gone through this with my little girl. She kicked it up a whole bunch when I would reward her with a phone call from Ernie (sesame street) every time she made it to the toilet. What a motivation! And there is never anyone around when I do my Ernie impression. But, you are right on track in regards to the timing, but all children are different. My daughter just turned three in January, and she has been fully trained for about 7 months. I'm telling you, use the favourite hero method... Its fun, cute and it works. Night time? I'm a bit of a crazy, I wake up every night and walk her to the toilet. LOL, she wobbles and I hold her. But honestly, I don't see her waking up to tinkle on her own anytime soon. That one I am just waiting it out on.
