    Tax lien
 I have had an IRS tax levy imposed on me in FL for past nonpayment of taxes can I still offer a compromise to the IRS at this point? I have no real property in my name (except for a couple of junk cars) but I have a mortgage in my ex-wife and my name with the deed signed over to her 2+ years ago (in the divorce) which she is currently in arears for payment to a private lender for, and for property taxes.

If they are serious about this - and I would assume they are - they will freeze bank accounts and garnishee wages. They have no interest in real property, cars and the like.

I've never known IRS to negotiate but I suppose it happens - I believe the IRS "compromise" law firms won't handle anything under $20,000, at least in my area.
