Will education status ruin our relationship?
I have a boyfriend who's still attending college but I am in college. When we are talking I feel as if I'm using too much big words, as if I'm talking down to him. My mom says I need to talk to somebody else because he's not up to my level. I however, believe she's wrong. She also says this will affect our future if we get married because he will not be able to relate to my friends. Also that I will constantly be putting him down. Do u believe this? Do u think I SHOULD STOP talking to him?

Excuse me? You are both in college and you have a higher vocabulary than he does? So you know more words and their meanings and how to put them all into a sentence. Big deal. Does this upset him? Do you feel llike you are above him? As in looking down on him because he does not know any ten letter words?
If so, then you need someone who is at least at your verbal abilities, if not above. That way you will not grow stagnant.

I would say that if you feel this way now about talking to your boyfriend, it is not going to change.

Yes, and when he starts college latter ? I can remember where doctors are married to plumbers and so on. Any relationiship will work if both want to. If you study accounting and he latter goes into engineering, you both can use big words the others don't.
It sounds more like your mom feels he is not going to go to college latter perhaps?

Only a problem if either of you have a problem with it. I personally prefer women who are at my level... in almost every aspect, but that's just me. But really, as fr_chuck says, I've known doctors who marry janitors, professors with PhDs marrying people that had a high school education... and they work it out fine.
Only a problem if you make it a problem.

The only person that seems to have a problem with it is your mother. If it doesn't bother either you or your boyfriend, don't give it a second thought.
