    Can I break my lease because I'm afraid I'll get hurt by bad renters or drug dealers on site

    Didn't you know what the area was like before you rented? If you can prove that the landlord has allowed a dangerous situation to develop after you rented (or hid the danger before you rented) then you may be able to get out of the lease.

    Normally no, unless the landlord is repsonsible for the crime.
