    1996 would not start
    I have a 1996 saturn sl2 it was running fine had no problem with it I let it sit for 2 day went to start it and it not starting I buy a new battry and it crank but not starting I can tell it getting fuel I will check see if it gettting spark any idea ?

    . Check all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter:

    . Check for codes.

    . Check the Ignition Control Module and coil. AutoZone should be able to do this for free.

    . Check/replace spark plugs (Saturn or ACDelco only) and spark plug wires.

    . Replace fuel filter.

    I have and I found 3 fues that say trs 3/4 trs trs pl and one other one 2 of then are 10 am an one is 7.5 none of the 3 work the fues look fine but I change then anyway and they still don't work I have no idea what those mean any idea

    No. Just make sure you check both under-hood and under-dash fuses.

    I have all fues are good expect for those that don't work any idea what I should do next I know I am getting fuel I am going to see if I am getting I am sure I am ?

    Can I jump the plug in to check for code or do I have to get the computer to check it ?

    You need a code reader or scan tool--plug it into the Data Link Connector socket under the dash.

    shawn0634, coming back and telling us you got the car started is fine, but it DOESN'T help anybody else. You need to tell us what the solution was, in order to help others. That's a big part of what this site is all about. It's a two-way street.

    I was coming back to tell you what I did to get it started well wild I was turning the key and the engine was cranking I was stepping on the gas at frist it did nothing but after steepping on the gas about 5 time I can feel the engine trying to start so that what I keeping doing stepping on and off the gas I say I must I had to step on and off the gas for other 10 time before the engine start running but it running now.

    You shouldn't need to touch the gas pedal to start a modern-day car. Sounds like you may need to replace the fuel filter.

    That what I though but that did the trick where the fuel filter locted on a 1996 saturn sl2 do you know and is it hard to change
