    Period Problems
I am 31 and in nov I had an unusually heavy period, so much so that I had to go to the emergency room to get help. They prescribed 10 days of progesterone. Since then I have had spotting here or there but no period. I have been trying to get an appointment with a dr. but so far I cannot get an appointment that fits my schedule or it's two to three months away. Does anyone know if the medication I was given changes things and it's normal? I haven't seen any changes in my body so I really don't think I am pregnant. Thanks for your help.

The medication they gave you helps with the bleeding and its quite normal not to have a period for a while after, spotting blood is quite normal too. Have you taken a pregnancy test?

No, I have not taken a test. I have started to feel symptoms of pms as of today so I am thinking that I am not pregnant.

With both of my pregnancies I felt premenstral and thought that I was getting my period, obviously you know how that turned out.

Take a test, they're not that expensive and it will set your mind at ease.

Make sure to take the test 1st thing in the morning, as it is more likely to be accurate then. I would keep trying to get a doctor's appointment. I'm sure talking to the doctor will help put your mind at ease. Are there any other clinics you can try to get into?

The best thing I can suggest is to take a test to rule pregnancy out, but the medication they gave you helps with the bleeding to stop it being so heavy, its not uncommon for some women to have this. But depending on the dose they gave you and how heavy you was depends on when you'll next have your period.
