USB stick is not working anymore
    Hi all,

Before 2 month I bought USB Stick Sony MicroVault 2GB USM-J. It was normaly working. I never had any problems with stick on any operating system on different computers ( specially XP, and vista).

Yesterday I copied large file and remove disk after several minutes. 10 hours later I tried to read files from USB sitck, than I got message from windows xp and Vista "USB Device Not recognized". I check in Admin tools and disk is not found. No letter is attached to disk :(.

Do you think this USB stick is not usable anymore or hope exist to get data from it?

    Thans for answers in advance.

Did you pull the stick out while the file was still being transferred to the drive, or after the completion of the transfer? If you pulled it out while the file was still being coppied, then you might have messed up the file system. Try using it in another computer to see if it works there. You may have to reformat it if you can get it working in another computer.

I check on 3 computers with 2 with XP and on with Vista, and was not recognized.

I pull the stck after file was saved and wait for 2 minutes. I did what have always done, wait for minute and pull out.

When I copied this large file on USB stick, stick was full, maybe this is a reason.

Do you have any other suggestions? How do you reformat with which tool, and it is possible to get data back after reformating?
