Don't know what to do,so stressed and confused
Hey,I'm only 14,about to be 15 in a few days, and about a month ago I got really stressed
And I cut my wrist. Then I confessed it to my best friend who understood and made me pinky promise never to do it again.About a week later I found myself doing it once more.I've stopped now,but I am still suffering from severe anxioty, depression, and stress.
And I need to find a way to tell my parents so they can possibly find me help.I don't know how to tell them how I've been feeling.Do I need professional help or will church do the trick?(my friends idea)I just need some advice on exactly what to do.If anyone has any advice I would like to hear from you as soon as possible.
    Thanks,
    Michelle

You have to get help immediately... the longer this thinking that causes the behavior goes on, the more entrenched it will become.

Tell your parents you want to go to your family doctor as soon as possible. They will ask you why, and then... tell them about the cutting. Your physician knows of resources where you can get help.

Remember, you can always go to your family physician directly...

    michelley93,

Make a doctors appointment s/he will see you on your own, but your parents should be told. You need to be very, very careful. You could cut your wrist too deep and be unable to stop the bleeding. You could also damage a tendon and lose the use of your hand. You must stop this NOW!! Talk to someone NOW!! You're worried your parents will be hurt, how hurt do you think they will feel if you hurt yourself real bad and they were not able to help you?

Sorry but that is not true. The body can heal itself - within reason.

Hehe so then you're 16? Welcome to the club - seems like the amount of young posters is getting bigger and bigger here huh?

Hehe, I used to cut my wrists as well when I was 14.. it just isn't worth it and makes no sense. The road to self pity, is the road to destruction.

    Hope you're doing OK now.

If you feel you can't bring yourself to approach your parents, I urge you to go to your shcool's principle, guidance counselor, or dean. They can be a mediator. (a person who will help you discuss it with your parents)Do not hesitate!
    Do something NOW!

She was just relecting on how far she has come and complimenting herself. At least, that's what I have deduced from what she said. Congratulations, michelley93.

Yes, cutting is not at all a good behavior, XM8, and it's great that you also (if my assumption is correct about michelley93) stopped. However, not sure if you are just talking about yourself or all cutters in general, but not all people who cut themselves are pitying themselves. Some do it to relieve pain or stress and are quite ashamed of it. I don't think it's fair to generalize it like that, as with the stereotype that all people who cut are "emo". Maybe I just took it the wrong way, though. I apologise if that is the case.

No sweat I was just trying to say that, I for one used to cut myself because I had so many problems and I thought it was a way to relieve stress. In the end it made me feel bad about myself and thus I had self-pity. I was never an "emo" or whatever stupid lables they use these days but I did have some minor mental issues that I fortunately got over - and now I don't cut myself anymore. Haven't cut myself since.. been over 2 years now.

    Hope you're doing OK michelley
