    Amana dryer plea80aw drying time
    Hi!

I have an Amana dryer that is about 9 years old, model #plea80aw, that takes forever to dry clothes -- average of 2 hours for a large load of clothes on the timed setting. It used to be much faster, but the last year or so has started taking longer. The dryer does heat up, it just takes forever for things to get dry. Even small loads take forever.

Could a vent be clogged or something? I have checked the front where the lint catcher is, and have checked the back where the vent goes to the wall, no blockages there. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Yes, it sounds like it is clogged. YOu need to check inside the blower assembly area and from the back of the dryer all the way back to where it exits the house. Bet you find a clog in there somewhere. Also check the blower motor itself to make sure it is running properly
