    Giving up parental rights?
    My ex husband wants to give up his rights to our children and I was wondering if he did will I still receive child support in the state of New York?

    I don't think anyone can give up the right to their children.

    Giving up parental rights does not mean giving up parental responsibility. All it means is that he will have no rights making decisions regarding the health and welfare of the child. He will, however, still be responsible for his financial obligations.
