    Oil burner end cone carboninig
We keep having an issue with a beckett oil burner... all of the sudden 3 weeks ago we had a no heat call... the end cone was all carboned up.. well I took out cleaned up replaced nozzle... well the same thing happened again and another tech went out... Then it happened again and again once more... the pump, ccoupling nozzles have been replaced. Today he trying a new solenoid valve?? I am at a loss for ideas now... Do you think cold oil may be the issue?? Why it just started when it got really cold outside...

Probably the original degree of nozzle was changed at one time. You need a narrower degree of nozzle. To wide a pattern will cause spit back and end tube plugging I would also check the nozzle supply tube distance from the cone.

We did all that the nozzle assembly,In my opinion sits back to far, but the gun line is in all the way it xcan go. As far as the nozzle size, I even went to the beckett spec book to double check the nozzle size.. Another tech went and from my lead, pulled the burner out to check the distance and he notice the end of the tube warping slightly and maybe it started topimpinge on the flame... From what he told me, He tried as best to reshape it so as not to be hit by the flame... wish us luck.. lol
