Bleached & dyed red hair - disaster!
    Hi,

I had recently decided to dye my hair red (I am a natural brunette) so a few days ago I bleached my hair and brought a red Schwarzkopf Live permanent hair dye. I washed this out and it was red. The trouble is, there was still some dark hair showing through - so bleached and dyed it again, thus turning my hair pink!

I have left it for a day - and brought another red hair dye (same brand) and dyed my hair again. I left it in for 45 minutes, washed it out - and yes... I still have pink hair!

I really need your advice! I don't know what to do!! I want red hair, not pink hair!

    Thanks

    Lesley

If you've bleached your hair, and it's over-processed or damage, it looses it's ability to hold hair color. You will need to do several deep conditioning treatments before dyeing your hair to maintain the color. If doesn't work, go to a salon and have them do the color application.

    Hi PrettyLady,

Thanks for your quick response. I shall try a deep conditioning treatment and see what happens after that. Is it worth trying to use a hair dye which is a darker red?

    Thanks :)

    Hi,

I have just dyed my hair using a different brand of hair dye - and also opted for a slightly darker colour, and I am pleased to say that this has worked :)

I will NOT be bleaching my hair again - I have completely ruined it :(

Keep in mind that red hair color tends to fade faster than any other color. When washing your hair, use shampoos and conditioners designed for color-treated hair to keep the color from fading. You can also use color enhancing shampoos to freshen your color. You should also do a deep conditioning treatment once a week to help repair some of the damage caused by bleaching.
