I have a ex that I had a child with but when I was worried if it was mine or not and I asked her for a paternity test she said no. So now that I've seen pictures of her its with out a question she is mine looks just like me but she don't want her knowing about me. Ive wanted to meet her but she says she to young right now and she's 6. I think its better now the waiting later. Oh yea she thinks the some other guy is her daddy. I am thinking about getting a lawyer and pursue going after her and letting her know that I'm her real father and not the other guy, but I'm in the marine corps and that makes it hard for me right now can anyone help me and about how much would it cost. It is grate that you are willing to take responsibility for the child you brought into this world, some men wouldn't bother. You are right to want to be in her life now. You have already missed out on 6 years of her life and the older she gets the harder it is going to be for her and probably you as well. I don't understand why your ex would not take a paternity test unless she wasn't sure that it was yours. I also don't understand about the pictures. Have you not seen your child in 6 years? How did you get the pictures? Did the mother send them to you out of the blue and if so why now? Either way it is wrong for her to keep her daughter from her real father and the father from his daughter. As with her calling another man her daddy, that is no ones fault but the mothers. I'm sorry I can't help you with the steps you need to take or what the cost would be but you do need to do all you can to be in your daughters life as soon as possible.

You can consult with a lawyer, and get an idea how much money it will take to get the child confirmed as your daughter, and you realise if she is yours child support will be paid. A small price to pay if she is indeed yours. I too, give you props for wanting to know the truth, and be in her life as a father should be.
