    Could I be Pregnant?
I am 21 years old, and I've always had a pretty irregular cycle, but for the last couple months its been 24-25 days. I just started having the following symptoms yesterday and today: nausea, lethargy, lower back aches, unable to concentrate, sore breasts, and some brown vaginal discharge. Now I'm not really trying to get pregnant, I just think what happens happens, I'm happily married and if we have a baby now OK if we have one later on OK... but my only thing is is it to soon to have symptoms, I would've only conceived on the 30th of November or the 1st of this month. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Take a pregnancy test, and read the other threads of this subject.

Thanks, I've read a lot of different questions on here and answers but I'm still confused, and I think its to early for a home pregnancy test.

With my first I swear the syptoms happened almost straight away, actually I found out because I felt really unwell and couldn't take it anymore. I had morning sickness (LOL, all day sickness) until about 17 weeks.

The urine tests are crap, I took about 3 before I went to the doctor with my first and they all came up negative. But the one I did at the doctors was positive straight away.

I am playing the waiting game myself, I have had blood tests over the past 5-6 weeks that say I am not pregnant. Yet my last period was just spotting... anyway enough of my woes (LOL).

Not to mention those of us with hormal problems tend to feel it a lot more, I have thyroid problems (well I now have no thyroid) and everything hormal is so intense for me. But my girlfriend was pregnant at the same time and had nothing like me, could also just be difference in our bodies...

Thanks for your help! I've taken a urine test but I still think it's to soon though, I guess I'll have to wait until Thursday to see if I'm late or not... I'm starting to hope that I am! But I definitely understand the all day sickness! Lol Well good luck to you!

If your period is not due yet, it is most certainly too early to take the test. Tests, no matter what the directions say, are most accurate AFTER a missed period. It takes time for the hCG to build up after conception.

Thank you, that's what I kind of figured, I just started to get impatient and with people continuously telling me I'm pregnant the thought of it has started me hoping that I am.

Why do people tell you that you are pregnant?

Because I've been nauseous, feeling exhausted, my breasts are sore (more so then when I'm about to get my period), and I can't seem to concentrate. I try to just ignore it and I try to ignore the actual symptoms too, but it's a little hard when you're at work trying to do something and you're already exhausted when you just got there and then you just get nauseous out of no where.

You very well could be. You know, sometimes our intuition is better than a pregnancy test.

Unfortunately, like the rest of us in our pregnancies, you are now playing the waiting game. Test again after you miss your period. If it still comes up negative, make a doctor's appointment.

Oh, yeah, don't forget to be taking a prenatal vitamin containing folic acid now.

Home pregnancy tests will usually show positive when there is a HCG level of 50, this should be by day 11 or so after conception. You don't necessarily have miss a period. Most women will experience some of the early signs of pregnancy by week 5 of their last period, but I've had many patients who report that they "felt" pregnant earlier than that. A blood pregnancy will be positive on the day of implantation which is about day 8. But I am confused about your attitude toward having a child. Children are a big responsibility that should be carefully considered and if at all possible planned for. If you want a babe it is best to live a healthy lifestyle, not smoke, drink, take care with medications and have adequate levels of folic acid before you conceive.

Well, I know it is a huge responsibility, and I've helped raise 2 kids (not mine) since I was 15 and I am now 21 almost 22. I know how hard it can be at times and how rewarding it can be. Also I do live a healthy life, the only non-healthy part may be that I'm around anesthesia and x-rays a lot since I'm a veterinary technician. The whole planning part is a little difficult considering the fact that my husband is in the Navy. But anyway thanks for your thoughts.
