    MY 1 yr Old Daschund
I got my dog from one of my friends I went to pick him up he was abused by his other owner at first he would poop and pee outside but now as soon as the snow feel he waits right after we take him out to go in the house! I don't get it I bought him a little sweater but it's a pain to get off him so how do I get him to go outside? Or can I get him something like a litter box like you do for cats? Help me this is my first time owning a dog!

My little dog wears sweaters and coats... you may have to try different ones before you find the right one. They make them that come over the head and some that velcro on the back or stomach... walmart has some inexpensive ones... starting at 4 bucks. As for the litter box training I know nothing about that, although I have read/heard of people doing that or with a pee/poop pad.

I have a mini doxie who hates the snow and cold. We often shovel part of our yard so that the snow is not deep. He goes potty in that area. We have jackets and boots for him, but shoveling seems to work the best.

I have shoveled too, sometimes having snow a young puppy's legs don't reach the ground.

Try walking him around. They can only walk and hold it so long. Lavish praise on him and hustle in. I didn't know that trick 14 years ago when it dropped to -20 when I was housebreaking Aster.

I don't like litter boxes, but if you go ahead, try to adapt the material to it at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post251809
