Its been almost a year since I've stopped cutting but even sometimes when I feel OK I just am so overwelmed to cut myself I don't get it I'm scard about it just one thing makes me sad or pisses me off I find myself with my knife about to cut I just don't get why I want to do it but don't its so confusing

Hey Ging... I am 20 years old. I know what you are going through. I started cutting at 16 and did not stop until I was 19. I have been clean for a year. I did it pretty much all by myself. Except for some help from my hubby and everything. My counselor told me to where one of those hair bands around my wrists either the thick ones or the ones with the metal... and when you feel the urge snap yourself a few times. But mainly you just need to tough it up. Keep that kind of stuff away from you. Trust me I know this is hard... but you just need to tough it up and hope that you have the strength and the willpower to quit.

Find a different way to get rid of your anger and frustration. Maybe art or exercise? Both work great for me... when I'm really down I usually go for a run (it releases endorphins which will make you feel better) and then work in the studio. I love nothing better than throwing paint on a canvas/board/paper and punching some clay around and I jam to my music really loud when I run. Also do your parents or some adult you trust know about this? Sometimes it feels good to vent and tell someone what you are feeling. I hope this helps!
