Receptacles - use both screws or pigtail connections?
I'm installing a series of receptacles in a row - chaining one to another.
In the recept box, when feeding the next receptacle, can I simply screw
The feed hot to the unused 2nd brass screw on the recp (and likewise the
Feed neutral to the unused 2nd silver screw) to feed the next receptacle. I've
Rehabbed many houses and I see this was the original method used by the builder.

Now I hear some say that the little metal knockout tab between the screws
On a recept. Is not thick enough to safely provide the 15/20 amps downline
Of that recept. so this method is not good and one should pigtail w /wirenuts
Each recept. In a chain. It's a lot more work to pigtail each recept. Do I need
To do this or can I use the 2 screw method?

A top notch, quality, troublefree job would be to pigtail each connection, but with 2 wire and 2 wire out of each box, the screw method is adequate, and done frequently.

Just be sure to never use screw terminals for shared neutrals, at the point the neutral feeder splits into two circuits. This connection must be spliced, screw terminals is never allowed.
