    Cooper Motion Switch and High Heat
    I just got the cooper motion sensing switch for my kitchen and after about an hour of use I noticed that the face plate was a bit warm. I took off the decorative face plate and felt the metal flanges that the screws go into and it was almost too hot to touch! Can this be normal? Is there a fire hazard here? Is that a stupid question?? :-(
    I'm just not sure how hot this thing can get before causing a fire!
    Could it be that I'm not grounding it properly or are my wires crossed?
    It seems to work just fine other than the heat issue.

    I suspect this is fine, similar to dimmers, as they also are designed to get hot and dissipate heat from the metal plate.

    Their website does not have much product data, perhaps you should contact their tech support for peace of mind:
