Puppy has tonsillitis but now others sick
Please help if anyone has an answer. Our hounddog puppy, 4 months old stopped eating and was just laying around. He threw up once or twice, mostly liquids and did have one about of diarrhea with blood and grass in the mess, but only once. No cough or sneezing. We took him to the vet and charged it until I get my ss check in Dec. He is already back to his bouncy self again and eating very well. But now we have one Chi mix that is 14 months old and two tiny Chi's that are only 8 months old. The mix has not eaten for four days now but does drink a little water and then throws it right back up. The little guys have not eaten for the last two days and drink very little. They are also throwing up. The littlest guy is very sick now and his body is very cold. We used a syringe and gave them some chicken broth tonight. I guess we will have to take them all to the vet in the morning if they will let me charge again and if I can afford three more. The hounddog puppy is my nephew's puppy and he has no job and so I felt I had to help and now I need the vet again. If anyone knows anything I can do to help these pups myself please let me know. Thank you. They were all playing together with the hound before they all got sick.

I am sorry, but if you are going to have dogs, you must give them proper care. Are they getting their routine care? Do you have them on heartworm remedy? If you can't afford their care, you can't afford to have dogs.

Gloribea, we can't examine your dogs online. I don't see why your vet wouldn't let you charge the visit if you have done so before. I hope you can get them in to see him today. A couple of days of not eating is not a big deal but what you have on your hands is some sort of viral infection that needs a vets attention. Frankly, as labman states, if you don't have the funds to seek proper medical attention for all of your dogs, you need to reexamine what you are doing in taking in so many dogs at once. If they all survive whatever infection they have contracted, it might be wise to see if you can find a home for one or two of them. Ask you vet for help with that. Whatever dogs you keep, you really should spay/neuter so that you aren't overwhelmed with puppies. All dogs need prompt medical care throughout their lives. Please ensure that you can manage to do that. No one anywhere online can help you out when there is an emergency.

On Friday night my puppy (10 month old beagle) was suddenly really lathargic, wobbly, practically falling over. We took her to the vet and they admitted her for the night. Pumped her full of fluids and she was released the following day, back to her old self. The vet figured she ate something...
