    Giving Up Parental Rights
 I am a mother of 4 children in Texas. I have two from a previous relationship and we were never married. I am thinking about terminating my rights to them, ages 8 and 7, because they are having a hard time adjusting to the different rules among a total of 4 different people. They live with their great grandparents, but also have their dad's rules, his girlfriends rules, and then my rules when they are over. I wish that I didn't have to think this way, but their dad is wanting me to change my rules and the way I discipline so that it will be easier on them. I have a 3 year old and a 2 year old that live with me. I keep the same rules for all of them.

The main reason why I believe that I should give up my rights is because he has threatened to call CPS (Child Protective Services) on us for what my 8 year old says. My 8 year old is a constant liar and is also seeing a therapist every time he acts up in school or has other problems. I was told that he was diagnosed with ADHD, but do not believe that he is like that. I believe that he is having some security problems and is lashing out in a violent way. I understand that it isn't always a good idea to give up parental rights, but I also have to look at trying to make sure that they don't end up with more problems than they are already going to have, and also make sure that I am able to protect and raise my other two without all the stress and problems that my older children are having and trying to deal with.

What good would giving up your rights do?
Do you not want to see these kids and be a part of their lives? And what message will that send them? That they aren't good enough to have the love of their mother?

So just don't use your rights, let the kdis stay with their dad 100 percent of the time and that is the end of it,
