    Sick puppy acting dizzy
This is my first time using this sight, I am greatly in need of assistants. Our 4 month old puppy is acting very strange. I don't know if he is sick or what to do. He is acting dizzy (like he is on drugs or drunk or something) he will pick his self up then his back legs don't act right, then he starts to move his head back and forth left to right, he just puts his head back down, I checked his legs and it didn't look like he was hurt. If you know anything about what this could be resond back. Thank you.

Has he had his shots? I had a dog act like this once too. I adopted her from the pound and had not yet gotten into the vet. She had distemper. Get to a vet ASAP.

I am not sure this can wait for morning, and some vets aren't open Saturday. If your vet doesn't have an after hours number, try the regular number, it may forward.

Most towns have a 24 hour emergency vet, I HOPE! Mine has four. Try those as well. Your dog needs to visit a vet. It's important.

Call a vet NOW and KEEP ALL OTHER DOGS AWAY from any areas your puppy has been. Be extremely thorough in cleaning any and all areas your puppy has been. Bleach and scrub very hard.

Distemper is very serious and deadly and even if they can fix it, it leaves lifelong neurological problems.

That is if your dog has it, take the dog to a vet and see what is going on immediately.

We don't know if this pup has distemper. I just posted that I had a dog once that acted similar and we had to put her down because of the distemper. I hope and pray that this is not what the OPs pup has.

POINT: Take your dog to the vet, as there are many knowledgeable people here that have had their experiences with their pets. None of these people can diagnose your animal over the internet. So, please, take your dog to the vet.

I adopted a puppy from our local pound two days ago. He's about nine weeks old.
