    I don't no what's wrong and I'm worried
    I am 16 and I have been having periods since I was 12 but never regular always have been on and off, this year I have only had three. I went for a ultrasound and they said they saw nothing wrong.I am not over weight or underweight I weigh about 8stone, so I am boggled as to what it could be. I have a feeling it has something to do with hormonal imbalance as I am always either very happy or very angry or very sad, also have had acne for 4years now not bad but definitely something to do with hormones.can you help me.I really want to no if something is wrong with me.thank you xxx

    Stress, or any kind of very strong emotion can lead to missed periods. Also lack of sleep.

    It could also just be that you're only 16. A woman's body takes time to mature and this type of thing (irregular periods, mood swings, etc.) are very very common in girls your age... even if you've had a period since 12.

    *EDIT*
    Lots of girls your age may also talk to their doctors about birth control pills. They will regulate your period.. sometimes even your moods assocated with your cycle. I'm on a variety that helps with my acne as well. :)

    I'm 28 and my periods have never been regular. They will sporadically change from a 28 day cycle to 36 days to 20. Its never been the same for longer then a few months.

    Has your doctor considered other issues such as a potential thyroid imbalance? I know my period is all wonky because I have thyroid condition. There could be other things going on as well OR it could be that you are 16 and your body is sill adjusting. Look at this way you've only had your period for 4 years that's not very long.

    Go to a medical doctor and maybe you should have your thyroid checked for it causes all sorts of problems... does anyone in your family have a thyroid problem?
