    Best Cosmetic Line for Teens
My Great Niece is 15 and wants to start wearing makeup. Her parents agreed and I'd like to buy her a makeup kit for her birthday.

Can anyone recommend a line and/or a kit that has light shades of products to get her started. I'd like it to be something geared toward newbies.

    Thanks in advance!

Teenage girls still have skin that's youthful and naturally beautiful. So their make up should look natural and subtle. I recommend Bare Minerals make up. Bare Minerals looks natural and doesn't clog the pores. Also, there's a make up line called "Mark" by Avon. The Mark make up line has fresh and pretty colors which are sheer, and they come in cute compacts.

Avoid buying liquid make up or foundation for your young niece, it will clog the pores and cause skin problems.

Almost every makeup line has a variety of colors from pink to purple to blue. Does she want foundation type makeup or more fun makeup like eyeshadow and lip gloss? I'm assuming it's eyeshadow and stuff like that since she's quite young and shouldn't need foundation :)
I'd go to a store like sephora and make her a goody bag of different colors for her to try. MAC eyeshadows are nice and you can get her colors like light pink, browns, and some fun colors for her to play with. You could get her some light blushes and lip glosses. You really can go anywhere. Walmart even has a good selection. Bath and Body Works has nice lip glosses. I hope this helps somewhat!

Thank you ALL! She's very young and is in the experimentation stage. She doesn't even know what colors she likes. I like the sheer ideas the best. I will check out Avon and see what they have. She is quite interested in kits. I bought one for her at Ulta yesterday... a trunk with 73 items in it. I'm still looking though.
