    Still not Pregnant!
I have been Trying to conceive for about 4 months now with no luck, I’m afraid that I'm not ovulating I have tried the home test and it's never positive. I also have used a basil thermometer and it seemed as though the temp. never changed. I'm starting to get concerned that I can’t get pregnant. I had HPV about 9 yrs ago with no recurrence since then. Is it possible that could play a role in not being able to conceive? My boyfriend and I are both in are
20's and are healthy non smokers, should I be concerned?

Honey, you have only been trying for 4 months. It takes most healthy couples up to a year of actively trying before becoming pregnant.

You know that the stress of trying actually hinders conception? True story. Look at all of us who try and can't but all of those younger gals that don't try, don't want to, and they get pregnant.

Have you had a preconception physical? Has your husband?

Well you are definitely on the right track as far as charting your cycle and using ovulation kits in combonation with you BBT.

As J9 said though, it can take as much as a year, if not more, for any healthy couple to get pregnant.

Here is a chart I use... if you already don't have the same thing. In the "comment" field I put what the results of my ovulation tests are.
    http://epigee.org/f/pdf/bbtchart_f.pdf

Are your periods regular? If so, you can use this site to help you determine your window for ovulation... it will help you narrow down when you should start testing for your LH surge.
American Pregnancy Association : Getting Pregnant: Ovulation Calendar

You should go into your doctor and get a pre-pregnancy workup. They should include bloodwork to make sure all your hormones are at the right levels to achieve pregnancy. Also start taking a prenatal vitamin, if you haven't already.

If after charting for a few months and you still see no change in your BBT and you don't get positive LH surges, take your charting into your doctor. This is exactly what happened to me. Although I was getting positive LH surges sometimes, my BBT wasn't raising every month... this showed me that I wasn't ovulating every month!

I also had irregular periods as well. So my doctor started me on a medication to regulate me, and will be starting me on Clomid (a med that will make me ovulate) as soon as I get my period this month.

You are off to a great start :) I would keep doing what you are doing... but understand, getting pregnant isn't as easy as it seems... many many factors need to be just right... so try to relax :)

    Good luck!

Yes right when we decided to get pregnant I went to my doctor and as always she said everything looked fine, I'm just afraid that there might be other problems that a routine physical wouldn’t be able to detect. I appreciate you answering my question I will try to worry less.
