    11 Year Repo
My mother co-signed a car for me back in 3/1996. Well, we returned the car voluntary due to my mother's illness, two or three months after. We heard from the creditors maybe three times in the past 11 years. Now we receive a call last night stating we need to make payment arrangements for the loan in the amount of $10,043.49. I have until 10/5/07 to contact them about how I am going to take care of this matter. If not they plan to subpeona me into court. Is there a law of limitations? Am I required to pay the amount after 11 years.

    Thanks

I believe that the statute of limitations has long since run out on this debt. Do a Google search for "zombie debt" and you will find several in depth articles about it. Your best bet is not to even discuss anything with them; don't admit to the debt; and even hang up the phone. Good luck.
