    Fan switch
My 3 way switch fan will not turn off. I replaced the 3 way switch and it still will not turn off. I have triple checked the wire connections and correct connections are made. What could be the problem?

When I think of a three way switch there is a wiper providing power to three

Contacts depending on switch position and a fourth position where it makes

    With none of them...

Does your switch have the position where wiper doesn't make with any of them

Or is it 3 position switch ?

The fan would not turn off in any position. Went and bought new switch, installed correctly with wires leading into appropriate ports L black, 1 grey,2 brown, 3 purple. Still not turning off, always on will change between low, medium and high speeds just never off. Worked when we bought the fan, could it be the capacitor?

It sounds like you don't have the correct replacement switch.
