    90 toyota 4x4 pickup
I am about to buy a 90 toyota pickup and I was checking the four wheel drive to make sure it worked. I got out to lock in the hubs and I found that they where already locked in. I then put it in four wheel drive and it worked. So I then went to unlock them and the drivers unlocked but the passenger side hub would only turn to about a quarter turn from the release arrow. My question is, is that bad and if so what might be the problem. I also wanted to know is it bad to just leave them in the locked position all the time.

They should be in free position. The one that turns 1/4 will need to be removed and re positioned or indexed on the hub until it will rotate the full half turn.
