    Legal Rights? What should we do?
    okay, this is really sad that someone would do this to a family member but i really need to know what rights we have, or what we should even do..

    THIS IS REALLY CONFUSING::confused:

    My step dad's family owns a company. The dad was the main owner and 3 of the kids worked for him, my step dad being one. When my step dad married my mom his sister got really mad and started being a wench. Then my grandpa got really sick and my step dad and his sister took over. My mom started working there and about 2 years later, my step aunt walked out and quit and demanded $50,000. We thought it was really stupid so we fought it and settled on just giving her two of the machines, they were really really expensive machines. Anyways she left and stuff and my mom took over her job, which is the accounting part. So when my mom took over all the books were locked, the filing cabinent was locked, she couldn't see any of the files or any of the statements. So the access had been cut off, all the passwords were changed and everything. So my mom went out and bought new Quickbooks and everything.

    That all went on about 2 years ago. Now she is filing a lawsuit against the company, my stepdad as a person, my mom as a person (both for imbezzeling money from the company...), the property that the building is on, and who they are renting the building from. But what makes me so mad is that she lives up on the hill, in a very expensive house, and she drives a lexus. We on the other hand have lived in the same exact house since i was like 2, we drive older not really expensive cars, and we dont ever go on vacation, or anything like that. So if anyone was stealing money from the company it was her, because my mom has the same job as she did, and they didn't change the pay, and if my step dad did, dont you think he would change it for his own wife?

    About a year ago my grandpa passed away, and it's just went downhill from there. Now she is DEMANDING $250,000...:eek:

    We found out a couple months ago that she was accessing the books after she had quit, from her house. She wasn't paying the property taxes like she agreed to. She used Pirated software for the computers. She is telling everyone she knows that our company has shut down. Like i said now she is demanding $250,000, saying that its her part of the company.:eek: Plus trying to sue my family. What the freaking hell is her problem. Please tell me what you think we should do..what are our rights? LET ME KNOW ASAP PLEASE!

    We do have lawyers, but i just want to get some more opinions rather that just one persons..

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!
    YOU GUYS ARE LIFE SAVERS ON HERE!

    by the way i never got my phone, or my straightener, or my car, but my computer is now working! Thanks again!!

    My opinion, there needed to be incorporation or business partnership agreements, the will should have been probated in court for ownership to be decided by the judge at that point and time.
    So I would get a couple attorneys
