    Back-dated Child Support
I have been separated from my husband since 18 months and we live in different states. We have a 4.5 yrs old son, who is with me eversince. There is no legal separation/divorce. Haven't heard from my husband ever. Can I file for child support and get it from the date of separation? Or will I be getting it from the date I file? Does every state have their own rules for the same?

Will depend on the court, it can go either way, You should have filed for support the same month you separated,
