    Dirty carpet
Help, my carpet is spotty and dirty, mostly spotty. I would like to clean the whole house without spending a fortune and being relatively easy and fast. What are your suggestions on how to pre coat the entire carpet without spraying each spot individually? Are there any homemade cleaning solutions. If it were a perfect world, how can I clean it easy and fast?

I like an Oxy product. It cleans and deodorizes (I sound like a commercial)
Heavier in the "spots" and then steam clean.

If I were you I would use oxy clean on the spots and then clean it. I was told by a carpet person that once the carpet fibers break down there is little they can do to make the spots stay gone. We had carpet (light green)and we would have it cleaned there were a couple of spots that would return in a couple of weeks regardless of which company we had do the cleaning. I will say that I never tried oxyclean on it, because we moved around the same time that that product cam out. I have only used oxyclean on carpet once I dropped a bottle of fingernail polish on the hearth and it splattered on the carpet and the oxyclean took out the stains, but I got to them before it dried. You could give it a try. I think it is sold most every where now. Good Luck
