    Carpet question!
We're not moved in our new place yet, but we are getting ready to. We noticed this trail of dirt on the carpet (looks like it has 2 different colors). The landlord said it's not dirt, but that the plastic that was covering some areas "took the color out" of the carpet. Well, to me, it's looks dirty! One of the plus of moving there was the brand new carpet... Now, is it too much to ask for a new carpet? I am not interested in moving in somewhere where the carpet will permanently look dirty! I don't know my rights on that matter and I want to be reasonable in my demands! Help! Thanks!

Yes - it is too much to ask. Ask for the carpet to be cleaned professionally and split the cost with your landlord.

Our landlord did not want us to clean it cause he was convinced it wasn't dirt, but discoloration. Plus, he said that to clean it will "weakened" the carpet resistance to future stains. We convinced him to have it professionally clean... It was dirt. Now it's clean.
