Well pump works until 30 lb then drops to 0
I have a new 6"well 160 feet deep.Pump is installed at 145 feet.Amtrol wx203 tank is charged to 28 lbs. for a 30-50 pressure switch.running kitchen faucets or lavatory faucets pump works wonderfully.Symmons temptrol shower valve with 2-1/2gpm showerhead runs fine until gauge reaches pressure cut in at 30 lbs.water pressure drops off at this time to 0 and no water comes out of any faucet. After approximately 25-35 seconds water comes back on and gauge works its way back up to pressure.I removed the well cap and watched while shower was turned on and water drawdown in the well was about 1 to 2 feet.the water has pushed up to within 10 feet of top of pipe.so there is plenty of water at all times.i'm baffled myers pump epople were also baffled.there are 2 check valve 1 at 100 feet and 1 in the pump.there is no loss of pressure as pump sits not being used.As the commercial on tv says "can anyone help me?"

How quickly does the pressure drop off, in a second or two or more gradually?
Just out of curiosity, anyone know why check valves are sometimes installed 100' feet down instead of at the well cap? It seems like it would make replacement much simpler. Mine is at just above the cap.

The pressure drops off quickly as though the water is being diverted.I watched the gauge just slowly work to 30 lbs.and then zip right to zero.

When the pressure drops does the pump kick back on?

The pump does come back on but not until 25-35 seconds have passed.when it comes back on it comes right up to pressure with faucets on it hovers around 30-35 lbs.until faucets are shutoff..
