The morning after pill twice in two weeks!
Hey all, this might be quite the question but I feel I need to set the background up so if anyone has experienced this they might be able to help. Right now, I am stressed to the maxium. My BF and I had sex twice right after my period ended.. he inside me twice, about 12 hours later I took the morning after pill. About 4 or 5 days later I had this intesne spotting, it was red and sometimes brown and I experienced normal period symptoms. The following weekend we used protection, however the condom broke, I took the morning after pill about 48 hrs later again! It's a week later and I have this dull pain in my right lower stomach, and have dark brown blood, with very small dark brown clots... I don't have sore boobs and I think a lot of what I am feeling is all in my mind because being pregnant is the last thing I want. I feel sick I think from the stress. So two questions... Is this spotting a normal after effect? And I feel like I could be ovulating now, so when is the time I can do a pregnancy test? Oh and also, I feel like I need some counselling, if there are any online counselling services you know about , I would love to know, I feel like I'm alone on this... My boyfriend would love a baby, but I'm just not ready. Thank you xx

The bleeding after the morning after pill is normal. The morning after pill gives you a high dose of hormones and that is what causes the bleeding.
The best time to do take a pregnancy test is 2 weeks after your missed period, using your first morning urine. Also, after 2 weeks, you can request a blood test from your doctor.
If you do not want to get pregnant I would suggest getting on some sort of birth control. Birth control is not 100% effective, but it greatly reduces your chances of getting pregnant.
As far as online counseling, I have Googled it for you : online counseling services - Google Search

Good luck, and like I said, get some birth control! If you have any other questions feel free to ask. :)

No body is telling you to be a nun. If you are unable to find reliable birthcontrol it is a good option. Do you also think abortion is a means to birth control?

Yes sex is a normal thing... for mature individuals who are ready to deal with the consequences of such an act.
Sex = pregnancy, plain and simple. If you are not ready to be a mother you should consider birth control.
No body asked you to become a nun, but rather to become RESPONSIBLE!!

For some people the morning after pill is abortion. Some believe that life is created at conception. Thus, when you take the morning after pill you have forced yourself to have a medicinally induced abortion.
Now, I may or may not be one of those people, I just want to set the story straight.

Please do get a some form of birth control. I don't think it is healthy for your body to keep using the morning after pill as your source of birth control.

It can be taken as many times as needed, but it is not as effective as just getting on the pill, ring, patch, etc. You might as well just get on one of those, then you don't have to worry as much about pregnancy scares. :)

I'm sorry, but I just have to correct you on your inaccurate information. First of all, the morning after pill is in NOW WAY an abortion pill. It is basically just a large amount of the same hormone in regular birth control pills. It PREVENTS the egg from dropping, and can PREVENT the egg from joining with the sperm if it has already droped. IT DOES NOT END A PREGNANCY! In fact it says all this right on the box, and it also says that it will not harm a fetus if you are already pregnant. If you are already pregnant you the morning after pill will not do anything. There is an abortion pill on the market, but you cannot take it until 2 weeks into a pregnancy and it has to be given by a doctor under doctor's supervision.
If you're one of thoes right to lifers who believes that life begins at conception, you can still take the morning after pill because there is no conception, it prevents conception so even if you have that narrow minded viewpoint, there was never a conception so there was never life. It you were pregnant to begin with, then the pill will not harm or affect your fetus.
And it seems to me that the poor girl was being responcible, we've all had times when maybe you messed up your birth control, or ran out and haven't been able to get to the doc for a refill. Lighten up and get your information right before you spout off.
