Java 2 runtime versus MSJVM
Since Microsoft will soon no longer be supporting their java virtual machine, I downloaded Sun's Java 2 runtime.
When my wife tried playing her java games on it, everything was slowed right down. I uninstalled Java 2 and went back to MSJVM and everything worked very well.
My question is, since the Java 2 is going to be the only option in the near future, is there anything that can be done to make it work better?
Are there any other options?

Java chat login
Hi, I use to help my friends about chat, Yahoo and java. But now I've faced a new and strange problem: my friend tries to login to Yahoo java chat, the applet loads and on the top of room says that the ID is in room, BUT the chat page and userlist are empty, then suddnly after a few sec. jumps back to the prev.page (chosing room page).
We've tried all basic actions and tests:
Abled/disabaled sunjava reinstaled sunjava
Disabled/abled JVM reinstaled JVM
Reinstaled IE
Deleted "Yahoo Chat!" in internet downloaded files folder every time before logging.
Tested the system with "diagnostic tool for MS JVM", all passed.
No firewal, adblock off, no proxy.
OS WinXP Pro.
I whould be gratefull for ANY sugestion... Thankz

Virtual Machine
Hi,
Here is a link:
http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html
It offers the Microsoft Virtual Machine, as well as the Sun Java Virtual Machine.
If you scroll down to the bottom, the Sun Java Virtual Machine checks your system, before automatically downloading/installing. This will probably insure you get the correct version; since there are so many.
I would try downloading the Microsoft one at the top first; since it does work for you.
You might have downloaded the wrong version.
I do wish you good luck.

Fred, I would recmommend getting the MS JVM as it's no longer available. If the applet they are trying to run is compiled using a more recent version of Java then the old MS JVM, there's going to be problems.
First thing I would do is to COMPLETELY delete your internet cache. Here are some steps for this:
- Click on Start >> Control Panel (might be Start >> Settings >> Control Panel if an older version of Windows)
- Double click on Internet Options
- The general tab will be shown. In the middle of this window are three buttons - delete cookies, delete files and settings. Click on the delete files button.
- An OK/Cancel box will come up. Press OK.
Once this is done - give it another shot. Just deleting the Yahoo folder from your temporary files probably won't do it. It'll be better to delete them all.

Clear out cookies
Hi,
Good suggestion about clearing cookies, etc.
Here is a good, free program that will do it with just 2 clicks. It also clears out history, URL's, other junk files, temp folders with files no longer needed, and some never used Registry entries, automatically.
http://www.ccleaner.com
It works great.
Best of luck.

20 amp versus 15 amp
[ 4 Answers ]
Hi all,
I would like to use 20 amp circuit breakers, 12 gauge wire, and 20 amp "commercial" outlets in my basement finishing job (for all the wiring you would normally service with 15 amp breakers). I know it's a little more expensive, but I like the idea of being able to expand when I need...
