    406 cooling fan not working
    I have a p reg peugeot 406 which overheats and cooling fans will not come on checked main things but to no joy

    Come on lads gis a clue

    I can't find data for a 406 online. What year is the car?

    OK, here's a clue, me laddo. Run the temp up until it starts to get hot and the fans should be coming on.
    Shut the motor off and feel the bottom radiator hose. Now touch the top one (quickly).
    If the bottom one feels much cooler, then it's a stuck thermostat, or clogged radiator.
    Give us a clue now. What's the year? Could be an electrical gremlin we'll need to look into.

    The year or the 406 is is a p reg 1997 (petrol) I will put your idea to the test (try anything once)
