    Pysic need Sos
    A flat uniform cylinder of lead floats in mercury at 0C. Will the lead float higher or lower when the mercury temperature is raised

    The mercury will have a lower density at a higher temperature, so what do you think will happen?

    An easy way to arrive at Capuchin's assertion that mercury is less dense at higher temperature is by considering how the level of mercury in a thermometer behaves when the temperature rises.
