Kitchenaid SxS Not Getting Cold SOS!
I have a kitchenaid side by side refrigerator that is approximately 7 years old. It has always ran perfectly. We noticed the ice was kind of melty this morning and sure enough things are defrosting. I emptied the freezer and took off the large metal panel that covers the fan. The fan is running fine and there is no ice anywhere. I also took the cover off the back, there isn't a significant amount of dust cause I clean it pretty often. The fan in the back is also working fine. I unplugged then plugged it back in and I thought I heard a click come from that large black tank (compressor?) but when I repeated the unplugging process I didn't hear anything. I am in the process of getting divorced so I am basically on my own with this. I can't really afford a service guy although it seems that is what I may have to do. This sucks, good thing its so cold outside! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :(

Sound like the compressor is not running ,remove black cover near the compressor you will find a start relay and overload.a relay is a device that start up the compressor. You can check this by prying it out. Shaking it to see if is broken inside (it will rattle)if it bad. Unplug the fridge first.
