My tongue piercing. I took it off and I feel a little bump.
I got my tongue pierced on Tuesday the 24. So then I was getting abit worried for it. And I went with a friend that owns a tattoo shop to check it out for me..
So he told me that the guy didn't do it right. He pierced it to further back.
So I took off the tongue ring Saturday night. And I'm a little woried because it hurts right now.
I feel a little bump. And when I curl (fold my tongue in half) my tongue hurts. Ouch.
Im a health freak and I'm scared. I want to know if its infected or is it natural since I just took it off? Help me.. I'm so freaked out right now. :(

Is there any way you can post a picture of it, so I can look at it?

The piercing as of today would only be 6 days old. Playing with it too much, INCLUDING taking the barbell out, can irritate it. It is going to hurt for a while. The little bump you feel is probably due to swelling, it can feel like a lump sometimes. But I can't really say accurately since I can't see it.

One of the sure signs of a tongue piercing infection is a yellow discharge coming out of the hole, usually kind of thick and a little stringy. If you do not have this discharge, I wouldn't worry.

Take some Motrin to help with the pain and swelling, and continue to use alcohol free mouthwash as if the piercing was still in your tongue. If it does not clear up within a week or so, see a doctor to see about getting on some antibiotics :)

You're very welcome, and I am glad you are feeling better. Just make sure you still take care of it as a piercing for a while, because with a barbell in it or not, it still has to heal properly :)
