    Fear of mirrors and windows
I know this sounds silly, but for a little while now, I've been having a bit of trouble, at night, I can't seem to look at mirrors and windows, its like I'm afraid of seeing something in them, so I have to walk with my head down when everyone else is asleep... help!

Yes, go to bed earlier and sleep later. Maybe you need a sleep aide.

You know, a sleeping pill. I hear there are good ones out there. Actually I've found that Tylenol PM works great for me and I don't need a prescription. Just take it and hour before you go to bed.

Exactly! I'm afraid that if I look in the mirror, ill see someone or something watching me, it scares the living s out of me lol, which is so illogical, because not seeing someone who is watching me wouldn't really make me any safer, itd just mean they could sneak up on me easier... hmmm I mite be having anxiety problems, I have been having chest pains and a tightness of the chest recently whenever I think about a certain chick who I adore more than life, and life has been pretty stressful lately.

    1) take deep breath
    2) look into mirror
    3) realise nothing is in the mirror except yourself
    4) repeat whenever you need to

When I was a child I saw a made for T.V. movie where a woman wanted to go to jail so she was going to steal something and get caught. Before she did though she looked in a mirror and her reflection shook it's head at her. For months after that I was terrified of the floor length mirror on the back of my bedroom door. I got over it logically. Mirrors can only reflect light, and nothing can live "inside" a mirror. About the windows, it's not an illegitamate fear. Perhaps you should invest in some bars for your windows, or a burglar alarm.

Thanks people, ill try your advice capuchin.
God I hate mirrors, not only because they scare me, but for the most part of the last few years I've looked into the mirror and hated what I see in them, and I don't like the concept of mirrors, they are entirely for vanity and we look at them waaay too much.

Remember to keep looking until you're convinced that nothing is there! No room for chickening out when you're dealing with irrational fear! :) Keep telling yourself that it's only a mirror!
