    Probate: due diligence
Hello... my first post... I'm nervous.

Simply, what MUST an attorney do to locate assets for probate? What SHOULD they do? My grandmother passed away in Indiana, but I believe she owned property in Florida. Our attorney said she searched, but could not find anything. Not that I don't believe her, but I am pretty sure, and she will not tell me exactly what she did.

    Thanks for any help...

The part that bugs me is the attorney not detailing what she did to search. What makes YOU think there was Florida property? Did you provide info to the attorney to aid her search?

    Hello t:

If she won't tell you exactly what she did, then I wouldn't pay her exactly what she wants. Or, I'd sue her for what I DID pay her.
