Leek I pull some of them up, but the stems had very small bulbs or none at all.
They have a pungent odor. About 6" long. I put them into a plastic bag.in
The kitchen closet. Now they are slimy and have a strong odor. Maybe they need refrigeration?

Yes, these look too young to me to be pulled. Also it is better to keep them in the fridge wrapped in a paper towel so as to soak up excess moisture.

Mature leeks don't have much of a bulb on the end, and from what you say, the size is right. They should be stored like onions but only pick what you need.
