I'm not Christian, so I have a hard time with anything being "God's work"... but whose to say that Karma isn't "God's work"? Couldn't God just be punishing people for bad things, and rewarding them for good? Isn't it all in how you look at it?
I'm juggling 10 things right now, but wanted to get an initial answer down for you quick :)

Yes, I guess it is all in the language we use. I look at it to be the same thing, but people that don't believe in God don't. So I guess I am asking since I do believe in God, is it wrong for me to use the word Karma. It all means the same thing so I am gueessing it would be fine to use it. Tell me if I am wrong. Thanks Synnen, for answering so quickly!

No, I don't think God gets offended by any language we use, because why give us the gift of language, and the free will to use it? I think the biggest thing I have realized is that whatever you think, say or feel, is already known by our creator, or whatever name you are comfortable saying. I guess I realized that this life we are in is different for everyone and our perception of it, but in reality there is energy that we consist of, as does the universe. We have the ability to connect with it and use it positively or negatively, and however we use it, it somehow comes back. It doesn't have to be framed in a specific way to understand that. Ultimately, its like giving and receiving love. When your heart is open and gives freely, it receives it just the same. Maybe you receive it differently than you expected or wanted, but you still receive it. When you do good things for people and be supportive and it feels good, that is the positive energy flowing through us. Same thing for the negative stuff. I am not an expert but this is my view and I don't think God minds it at all, our purpose is to learn, grow and question what we believe. The bottom line is, for all of us, the answers are within are recognizing that is recognizing the gift of God within. Am I getting off topic now? Just trying to answer your question because I know Synnen had to go. Good Morning to all of you!!

Shattered has it right... what difference does the word make?
If we love, and act on love, and do all of the things that "love" implies (charity, mercy, forgiveness, etc) --isn't it still love, regardless what it's called?
Same for hate--negativity, jealousy, resentment, anger---isn't it all just Really Bad Stuff?
Karma is, essentially, doing unto others and having others do unto you.

Duh, forgive my writing today! I meant to say, the answers are within, AND recognizing that , is seeing the gift of God within. Or, the realization of our connection with a greater existence, within us. I sound like a moron. I didn't drink coffee this morning and I am so screwed up!!

Yes, YEs Yes, Synnen!! That is exactly right. All of those things you describe are acts of love, or ways of expressing love. (Which are all "positive" things) Yet all the things that encompass hate, are considered "negative" things. However, if we dig deeper we realize that without both, we have no understanding of either. Therefore, not only are both necessary, but they do not exist without each other. God already knows this and this is part of our journey. That is why, as good as we can be and as much love as we give, we still partake in the negative as well. This is what the human experience is for! The negative stuff is a compass on how to learn to be different, better, more loving etc... We have to experience it all to really understand this life! Right? OK I think I am going off on a tangent I will shutup now and get a cup of coffee my head is killing me!! That is why we shouldn't regret what we do or how we do it, how else do we learn different?? Although I feel guilty and down on myself at times, I know deep down I am wasting my "energy" and it is useless. So, then I move on and focus on the good stuff again. I don't consider cleaning toilets part of the good stuff by the way, or doing laundry. I wish I did.

You can come clean mine, any old time you like. I'll do your dishes for you... I like hand washing them, because the monotony of the task is soothing to me. I can do a lot of thinking while doing dishes!

That is for sure, you leave my dishes alone, I have a lot of thinking to do. It is wonderful outside, the kids just ate cake for breakfast and they are all playing, I get to do the clean up. I wouldn't mind getting some sun though. Maybe later. Off I go to flod the laundry.

I wish I had some chocolate cake for breakfast, wouldn't that put me in the best mood? I think cake contains almost all the four food groups doesn't it? LOL! I am glad its so nice out, here it feels like a sauna outside. Hot! That's the problem with cleaning, as soon as you finish, you start all over. Yes I do love it when the toilet is clean, but as soon as its dirty again I am so annoyed. I like straightening up, its easier and the results are more quick. Dishes, ahhhhhh I think while I wash, I think, where the @@@$ is the maid! Just kidding. I get annoyed because the kitchen looks so nice with everything cleaned up. Then, its dinner time. We cook, spill, set the table, eat, and back to the sink to wash. It does get tiresome sometimes. I guess the right attitude would be, be thankful I have a home to clean and food to cook right? Get some sun girl, you can always fold outside!!

Goodafternoon everybody,
Hope you are all having a great day.
For me personally the word karma and using it. Is not a problem at all. There are many different words to describe one thing. That is what is so amazing about language.
I personally feel that our spirits, our hearts, our language goes beyond what we really understand. Our understanding is limited but God knows all.
I find this very interesting.
Oh, I have some questions.
What is your favorite season of the year? If your married how long have you been married for? What is your favorite activity? Sport?
I think it is fair to say that everybody here believes in karma and the thought behind it. How often have you seen and heard a lightning when it was snowing in the winter? I know, start came up with the best questions. I had some really good ones in my head this morning and by the time I got the computer they were all gone.
Oh my, we are getting a thunderstorm right now and I am still on the computer. Hope I do not get zapped or the computer lol.
Having cake for breakfast yummy yummy. That is quite the start. Who has ate breakfast food for supper before? Or dinner food for breakfast?
Well everybody, I am going to say goodbye for now.
Keep typing. (; Hugs
Joe

Spring, spring is my favorite season. It means new beginnings for everything, it also reminds us that there is light at the end of the tunnel when we are so sick of winter.
I have been married for 11 years not been with him for almost 13. I love coloring with the kids, I used to be athletic but now I am not but want to be again. I would have to say I love Antique shopping. There is something about the history in it that really gets me emotional. Wow, they did what with that is always my question... I have about 10 washboards hanging in my laundry room to remind me my days are good compared to what they could be! I have come to love GE and Maytag! If you guys haven't already heard I am known as the LAUNDRY QUEEN, I love clean clothes and blankies, they are my favorite! I love breakfast for dinner, we do it often. Oh the good ole piece of bacon and a wonderful plate of french toast and butter and syrup. MMMMM maybe tonight we will do that. Hope you guys are well, I am going to go and finish my chores, I will be tackling my daughters room in about 1/2 hour. Wish me luck my fellows, who knows, I may never get out alive...

You and my husband must have seen "Jaws" at the same time... he does the same thing.
Frankly, I'd rather have the chance of sharks than all the little kid pee in the pool.

LOL you have a freakin point there Synnen. My husband and all of our kids are in love with boating and jumping in whether it is rain or shine. My dad ruined my boating experience when he would take us all out at 4 am and make us stay till we got our halibut limit for days at a time! Alaska rough seas mind you.
