91 Civic starts but has no power
Car starts but won't go over 30kms and has no power. Idles fine also
I have a 91 civic DX that was just put back on the road after about a year of sitting.
Changed plugs, filter, oil, reg stuff.
It was running very well for about a week on the fuel that was left in it since shut down. New tank of gas was put in and was driven for about 200kms with new gas
Here's the weird thing though, for about 30 kms prior to the car having NO power, the alternator belt was spinning and doing that whine that is so familiar to grocery store parking lots. As soon as that stopped the car had zero power. The belt is still there and even after tightening it the problem still exists.
I changed out the fuel filter yesterday, fuel that came out was extremely dirty (can't remember if it was prior or after the filter) Still happens.
However, after the filter replacement, the ecm is giving me a error code 16 "fuel injector"
Has this happened to anyone here or is there some suggestions that might help out?
How can I test to see if the injector is shot? Is there an easy way to do this?
Thanks

Reset ECM, start engine, and listen to each fuel injector for a clicking sound. Stop engine and disconnect 2-P connector from any fuel injector that does not click. Measure resistance between two terminals of fuel injector. Is there 10-13 ohms? If not, replace injector.

Thanks for the reply.
I should have mentioned that the engine is just the 1500cc TBI type (dual injector)
Does that make a difference?
Will try what you suggest asap

Both injectors tested OK for resistance, I have them cleaning right now. Hopefully it was just clogged up or something

Well the injectors work and tested just fine.
So I just thought I'd come back and advise as to what the problem was
The catalytic converter was blocked by its own ineards (sp?) there wasn't much left of it either, so I punched it out and am now running straight through until the dreaded e-test
When I say blocked I MEAN blocked, I should have taken a picture
Thanks for the advice guys

So much for the "precision" of a Code 16.

Hi all. Having a problem with my 95 Civic EX. Idles beautifully when it starts, but cuts out when you step on the gas, especially if you step on it hard. If you step softly on the gas you can slowly manage to get around to a quick location, but when the car heats up it is almost impossible to...

I have a 91 honda civic that tries to start by itself with no key in the ignition.
It will keep going until you take the cable off the battery. Wondering if this is a starter problem or an ignition problem.
