    2001 Civic Starts and Quits
I have a 2001 Civic that has a unique problem. It will start and run for about 2 seconds and then stop. You can restart it but it will do the same. It acts like it is being starved for fuel but the fuel pressure remains constant. There are no engine codes in the computer and all of the parameters are within range. The main relay and fuel pump relay operate normally like nothing is wrong. Any ideas?

    1. Test all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how:

    2. Perform the K-Test on the ECM:

The K-Test: Remove the MAP Sensor connector and turn the ignition switch to ON (not start). Using a multi-meter, check for 5 volts going between the MAP Sensor connector's reference wire (+) and ground. As you look at the connector, this is the socket on the right. Really press the black test lead into a cleaned main ECM ground on the thermostat housing. If the voltage is low, it's probably indicating ECM failure. Most failed ECMs will record a fraction of a volt.

Hi all. Having a problem with my 95 Civic EX. Idles beautifully when it starts, but cuts out when you step on the gas, especially if you step on it hard. If you step softly on the gas you can slowly manage to get around to a quick location, but when the car heats up it is almost impossible to...

I have a 91 honda civic that tries to start by itself with no key in the ignition. It will keep going until you take the cable off the battery. Wondering if this is a starter problem or an ignition problem.
