    Having problems booting windows?
    When I start my computer it boots like normal , but then the screen turn the screen all black and lopps to the starts up page that says... bios and so on.. I'm running windows 64 bit . It was working finr.. but now I can't even log on to the computer

    Is your OS trying to boot at all? Did you recently put new hardware in? What did you do to it right before it refused to boot. 95% of the time its something you did to it. The other 5% of the time a really nasty virus might be the cause. Did you change something in the bios? Its kind of hard to troubleshoot you with so little info about the situation. If its not even letting the OS boot your kind of in a world of hurt. Umm... did your computer come with any recovery disks? Enable your CDrom drive to boot from cd if it already isn't (they usually are) and see if it says boot from cd at the bottom of the screen when its booting. That should be the last thing it says before it starts to load the OS. Does it say that? Either put in the recovery disc if your computer was put together by a company, or put in the original OS disk and see if they will boot for you. If they do, from there, do what you can or post for more help.

    Yes I can acces my bios.. I have no recovery disks.. but I do have my operating system disk which I could use to reload windows.. and all that but I prefer not to because I need some of the info on my computer...

    Something could be corrupted in one of the OS files. You should be able to re-install windows w/o killing your data but there's no guarantee that will fix the problem.

    Pull the drive out and put it in another computer as the secondary drive and see if you can access the drive. You may have to go into disk manager and map a letter to the drive.

    If you can pull the data off the drive then I would re-install the OS making sure you format the disk before you install the OS.

    jstrike's idea is good, I've done that a few times. It might be difficult to access information in your personal folders because access to it might be denied. My mother got around that before when I had a crash but I don't know how. It is possible though. She messed with permissions I think.

    If you login as administrator or a member of the administrators group you will be able to access the documents and all personal folders.
