    Re-assembling a 3-tier chandelier
    Hi,
My ex-husband disassembled a 3-tier, 16 arm chandelier. He removed the bottom tier of arms, left the top 2 tiers intact, and then threw the whole thing in a box. I would like to re-assemble it, but have no idea what to do with the electrical wires. There is one black and one white wire running down the entire stem of the lamp. Then, each of the (loose) 8 arms has a black and white wire. Do I twist all of the white wires together with the stem's white wire, and then do the same with the black? Then, there are two orange caps. Do I put the caps on both sets of wires to end it off? I would truly appreciate an expert's help! Thank you!

Connect the whites to the white, blacks to the black. Cap it off with the orange caps. Although, if it is more than 3 wires twisted together, I would use a bigger cap. Like a tan or a red cap if they will fit.

Re-wiring chandelier [ 1 Answers ]

I am re-wiring an eight light chandelier that was wired in a series. I would like a formula to figure the maximum wattage for a given wire, or the wire size required to obtain a certain maximum wattage. Would the formula also work if the chandelier was not wired in series?
