Each light socket is two wires that will all connect back at one junction location, usually in the center of the fixture, to two wires that go up the chain to the ceiling light.

You can use #16 TFFN wire, colored coded black and white, or if you use two wire cord, then look closely at one side of the cord, and you will see ribs or some other marking to identify that one wire as the neutral or white wire.

All the whites connect together, and all the blacks connect together, so that at the ceiling you have two wires, black and white (or one identified as neutral).

Re-wiring chandelier [ 1 Answers ]

I am re-wiring an eight light chandelier that was wired in a series. I would like a formula to figure the maximum wattage for a given wire, or the wire size required to obtain a certain maximum wattage. Would the formula also work if the chandelier was not wired in series?
