More than 31 days in 2006 for 8843 form?
    Good morning,
I'm a visiting fellow from Spain, who came to do a research fellow in the Massachusetts General Hospital on December 14th 2006 . I have a J-1 Visa. I'm not receiving any money from USA.
I was filling-in the 8843 form for the 2006 taxes, and someone is
Telling me that if I have been in USA less than 31 days
    of 2006
I have no to send the form!!
Please, would you tell me if I have to do it or not? I don't want to
    Make a mistake...
    Thanks a lot :)

If you will be in the USA for most of 2007, then file the 2006 Form 8843.

Granted, this is a better safe-than-sorry answer, but the IRS is beginning to get serious about enforcing the Form 8843 reporting requirements.
