    Air in water lines
I am having an ongoing problem with air in both the cold and hot water lines. I have a shallow well and have replaced the Air Volume Control on the pump with little result. I am using a Water Ace Pump Model RTS5. (Serial CCS-12-02).

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks-

Air in the water lines comes from one of two problems. Most of the time the air comes from a leak in the suction line (the line leading to the pump). I normally replace the check valve ( assuming you don't have a foot valve on the well) with one that will accept a vacuum gauge. Warning! You will have to re-prime the pump when you do this. If you have any galvanized fittings on the suction line replace them as well at this time. After the pump is re-primed, watch the vacuum gauge. If it draws more than 20", you could have a bad well, which will draw air into the system.
