    Concerned son
My mother is 58 years old and is starting to complain about a tightness in both of her arms. She says when the pain starts it stops her in her tracks. I can't get her to go to the doctor because she is afraid of what they may tell her. Are these signs of a heart attack? She isn't a heavy drinker and a non smoker. My mother doesn't have any stress in her life except whe I get on her nerves. Want her to be with me for a long time. Somebody tell me something.

There could be any number of things going on with your mum from pulled muscle to heart problems. Only a doctor can tell her for sure. I understand that she is afraid of what they may tell her, but she should be very afraid of what could happen if she does not find out.

Many things can be dealt with in the early stages, but when people wait and illnesses get worse, they are harder to deal with.

She has her freedom and mobility now, make sure she does not lose it. Get her to a doctor. Heck, it may be nothing at all, but we cannot diagnose over the internet.

Yes your mom should be much more scared about not knowing, it can be something so simple that nothing has to be done, or something that can be made well with a simple pill, but if that pill is not taken they die, So she needs to get regular check ups, for with her regular doctor at least once a year.
